Volunteer Spotlight

John Eaton

Longtime Boyer volunteer is headed to medical school.

Congratulations to John Eaton, our stellar volunteer who is headed to medical school this fall!

John has come full-circle: he attended Val’s Neighborhood Preschool in the early 1990’s (two blocks from Boyer), and each week he and the other preschool kids would come to Boyer and join the playgroups.

Decades later, John has been one of our most consistent volunteers, serving more than 150 hours in the classroom over the past two years.

“It was quite rewarding to have John in our classroom, he helped provide a great male role model for the children,” shares Denise Swanson, Education Department Coordinator. “He was good at interacting with the children and tempering his responses to their individual abilities. John’s consistency as a volunteer made it possible for him to support the class routine. We will miss him and hope we contributed to his knowledge of children and disabilities, making him a more informed doctor for the future.”

Thank you for your incredible support, John, and good luck on your next chapter! You will be very missed by our children and staff alike!
